Bangladesh men's cricket team will arrive in Pakistan earlier than initially planned to prepare for their upcoming ICC World Test Championship matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi.

Originally set to arrive in Islamabad on 17 August, the team will now land in Lahore on 13 August. They will train at the Gaddafi Stadium from 14-16 August before heading to Islamabad on 17 August to continue their practice at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 18-20 August.

The PCB extended an invitation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to allow their team to arrive earlier, ensuring they have sufficient time to train before the crucial Test matches.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, expressing confidence that the additional training sessions in Lahore will enable the players to perform at their best on the international stage. He also expressed delight at the BCB's acceptance of the offer, looking forward to welcoming the team with traditional Pakistani hospitality.

BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed gratitude to the PCB for the opportunity, noting that the extra training days will help the players acclimate to the conditions and better prepare for the Test series.

This tour marks Bangladesh's first visit to Pakistan since 2020 when they played three T20Is in Lahore and a one-off Test in Rawalpindi. Bangladesh also recently played two ACC Asia Cup 2023 matches in Lahore.
