The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a strong warning to all Indian Premier League (IPL) teams and stakeholders amid growing concerns over corruption threats linked to a suspicious individual.

According to reports, the BCCI's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has identified a Hyderabad-based businessman who is allegedly trying to approach players, coaches, support staff, and even commentators with the intention of involving them in corrupt activities. The individual reportedly has known ties with bookmakers and has been associated with illegal practices in the past.

The ACSU has advised all IPL stakeholders to be extremely cautious and immediately report any direct or indirect contact with the individual. The man is said to be using various tactics to get close to players and officials, including pretending to be a fan, offering expensive gifts like jewellery, and inviting them to private parties.

He has also been seen at team hotels and stadiums, attempting to build relationships with players and staff. In some cases, he allegedly tried to reach out to the family members of players, coaches, and even franchise owners — sometimes through social media or overseas connections.

The BCCI stressed that all individuals involved in the IPL must remain alert and report any suspicious behavior to the ACSU, ensuring the integrity of the league is protected.
