Eyewitnesses and videos that surfaced later showed Pant's car had caught fire, but he was able to escape. The BCCI confirmed that the left-hander had suffered injuries to his head, back, and feet. He had two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back.
Pant was first admitted to Saksham Hospital near Delhi before being shifted to Max Hospital in Dehradun after his condition was stabilised.
