Debajit Saikia, the newly appointed secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has stated that no proposal has been received regarding India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, traveling to Pakistan for the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy.

In an interview with an Indian newspaper, Saikia was asked about the possibility of Rohit Sharma visiting Pakistan, to which he responded that Pakistan, being the host nation, would benefit from the situation.

He mentioned that India would need to find a compromise to address the issue, as it had not been part of their discussions with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Saikia emphasized that this is a delicate matter and any decision would be made carefully, considering all the potential impacts.

It is worth noting that before the Champions Trophy, all captains will participate in the traditional media session in Pakistan, and the opening ceremony of the event will also be held, with teams being invited.
