England captain, Ben Stokes, has reacted hilariously to an Australian newspaper that called his side "crybabies" after the dismissal fiasco of Jonny Bairstow in the second Ashes Test at Lord's.

Shortly before lunch on Sunday's final day, Bairstow - the last of England's recognized batsmen - fell for 10 when he wandered out of his ground after ducking a Cameron Green bouncer, with quick-thinking wicketkeeper Alex Carey under-arming the ball onto the stumps.

Bairstow thought he had secured his ground by tapping his bat behind the crease.

Australia captain Pat Cummins could have withdrawn the appeal, but the decision was referred to third umpire Marais Erasmus, who ruled Bairstow had been stumped, with England now 193-6 chasing a target of 371.

The incident fueled harsh reactions from English fans both on and off the stadium. However, the reaction from the English side was countered with a strong response from Australia as well.

A prominent Australian newspaper, "The West Australian," on its front page featured a picture of Ben Stokes where his head has been photoshopped onto the body of a baby, with a dummy in the mouth. The main headline says "Crybabies," implying England's reaction to the Bairstow's dismissal.

Stokes responded to the cover through one of his tweets, saying, "That's definitely not me; since when did I bowl with the new ball."

Relations between the two sides were already fraught, with the Australians left fuming on Saturday when Mitchell Starc thought he had caught opener Ben Duckett, only to see the dismissal overturned as the ball hit the ground.

Fuelled by the Bairstow row, England captain Ben Stokes smashed 155 to give his side hope of a stunning victory.

But Australia held firm to win by 43 runs and take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series as they bid to retain the Ashes.
