Shadab Khan has recently faced some scrutiny for the dip in his bowling form and his dropped catch of Mark Chapman in the fifty T20I against New Zealand.

Chapman was dropped at 67, and went on to make his maiden T20I century and won the game for New Zealand, thus leveling the series by 2-2.

In response to the criticism, Shadab's former Pakistan teammate, Mohammad Amir, came forward to support him, acknowledging that every player goes through highs and lows in their career.

“Best white ball Cricketer in Pakistan. Performance can go up and down. Every player goes through it. Keep working hard brother u are love,” Amir wrote.

Shahid Afridi also spoke about Shadab's struggles against left-handed batsmen, emphasizing that the young all-rounder should prioritize his bowling skills over his batting.

"Shadab has always been a strong performer in the middle-overs, but struggles against left-handed batsmen. It's important for him to focus on his bowling, as that is his strength. As a batsman, he should take a backseat. In the end, Shadab's performance is what matters most and he should strive to improve his bowling to secure his spot in the squad," he said.
