Renowned Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle was left frustrated by Pakistan’s performance on the fourth day of the first Test match against England in Manchester.

A brilliant 139-run partnership, in the second innings, between Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes took the game away from Pakistan, despite the visitors being in the ascendency for majority of the game.

“Pakistan went flat....like a soda can left open for two days. Inexplicable. They will be kicking themselves....Had the side to win it,” Bhogle tweeted.

Bhogle also criticised Pakistan captain Azhar Ali because of his tactics on the field.

“Brilliant from Buttler and Woakes. Had the skill but it was the attitude that took them home. And with 70 left the opposing captain was looking like the game was lost!!” he said in another tweet.

Victory meant England had won an opening Test for the first time in six series.

England will now try to complete their first series win over Pakistan in 10 years with victory in the second Test at Southampton starting on Thursday.
