Champions T20 Cup: Stallions defeat Dolphins

In the first match of the day at the Champions T20 Cup, the Stallions secured a thrilling 5-run victory over the Dolphins at the Rawalpindi Cricket Ground. Muhammad Mohsin was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

The Dolphins won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Stallions capitalized on the opportunity, posting a formidable total of 190 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.  

Opener Yasir Khan contributed 36 runs off 33 balls, hitting 3 fours and 1 six. His partner, Muaz Sadaqat, added 23 runs to the tally. Captain Muhammad Haris managed only 7 runs, but Muhammad Mohsin played a pivotal role with a blistering 55 off 32 balls, which included 4 fours and 4 sixes. Husnain Talat also delivered an impressive knock, remaining unbeaten on 57 runs off 34 balls, hitting 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.  

For the Dolphins, Muhammad Rameez claimed 2 wickets, while captain Faheem Ashraf took 1 wicket.  
 
Chasing a target of 191, the Dolphins fought valiantly but fell short, scoring 185 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Opener Sahibzada Farhan was the standout performer with a brisk 59 off 38 balls. However, his partner Mirza Tahir Baig was dismissed for a duck after facing just 3 deliveries.  

Muhammad Harira added 24 runs, Qasim Akram scored 37, and captain Faheem Ashraf chipped in with 25 runs. The rest of the batting lineup struggled, with Umar Amin (5), wicketkeeper Muhammad Ikhlaq (10), Salman Irshad (6), and others failing to make significant contributions.  

For the Stallions, Mehran Mumtaz, Muhammad Ali, and Usman Tariq each picked up 2 wickets, while Ubaid Shah and Husnain Talat took 1 wicket apiece.
