Richard Gould has reportedly discussed the Afghanistan issue with England's captain, Jos Buttler, in preparation for the Champions Trophy
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has decided against boycotting matches against Afghanistan, opting instead to pass the matter to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
According to British media, ECB Chief Executive Richard Gould and board members have scheduled a meeting with the ICC on Monday. During this meeting, the ECB is expected to push for sanctions against Afghanistan and demand the suspension of ICC funding until the establishment of an Afghan women's cricket team.
Reports indicate that the ECB will also request a deadline for the creation of the Afghan women's team and propose that allocated funds be withheld until progress is made.

The ECB is under increasing pressure to boycott matches against Afghanistan, especially after 160 UK politicians signed a letter urging the board to take this stance.
This development comes amid growing concerns over the lack of a women’s cricket program in Afghanistan.
