India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has downplayed the hype around the Pakistan-India match in the ICC Champions Trophy, emphasizing that every match in the tournament is crucial.

Speaking at the Indian Cricket Board's awards ceremony, Gambhir stated, "We are not going into the Champions Trophy thinking that the match on 23 February is the most important one. All five matches are significant for us. Our mission in Dubai is to win the Champions Trophy, not just one game."

He acknowledged the high emotions surrounding Pakistan-India encounters but insisted that the real focus should be on the tournament as a whole.

Comparing the event to the World Cup, Gambhir said the Champions Trophy presents a different challenge where every match holds importance.

He also highlighted the impact of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, stating that their presence would add value to the dressing room and play a major role in the tournament.
