This inspection by the ICC delegation will be a crucial step as the PCB gears up for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy
An ICC delegation is set to visit Lahore on November 10 to assess Pakistan's preparations for hosting the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. According to Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Director of Infrastructure, Qazi Jawad Ahmed, the ICC team will spend three days in Pakistan, where they will receive a comprehensive briefing on the tournament's progress and arrangements.
Speaking with media during an inspection of the Gaddafi Stadium renovations, Qazi Jawad shared that approximately 45% of the work, including major renovations in the main pavilion, is now complete. He assured reporters that construction at the stadium is on track to meet the December 31 deadline.
Qazi Jawad explained that the pavilion’s main building is now in the finishing stages, with 120 out of 260 structural columns completed so far. Hundreds of workers are working around the clock in three shifts to ensure timely completion. As part of the renovations, modern lighting towers, new seating, and two large screens are being installed to enhance the viewing experience. While the Far End Building will not be demolished, necessary updates are planned to improve its functionality.
For the players and VIPs, the main pavilion has been redesigned with parking for team vehicles and special VIP enclosures, while new dressing rooms for the teams are being constructed on the second floor. The revamped seating will offer fans a closer view of the action, allowing them to enjoy an enhanced and up-close match experience.
