Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has stated that the Champions Trophy tournament is a matter of pride for Pakistan, and the board will ensure that its dignity remains intact.
The 76th meeting of the PCB Governing Board was held under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi, during which decisions from the previous board meeting were ratified.
During the meeting, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi addressed the board about the Champions Trophy and expressed his desire to see all Pakistani teams playing on their home grounds. He reiterated that since day one, he has been advocating for the victory of Pakistan and cricket, and Pakistan’s principled stance has been widely appreciated.
Naqvi emphasized that cricket should remain a sport, and he is against any form of politics in the game, which is beloved by millions of fans worldwide.
He assured that the PCB is fully prepared for the successful hosting of the Champions Trophy, and all participating teams will be warmly welcomed with open arms.
Furthermore, Naqvi stated that the renovation of stadiums will be completed before the Champions Trophy, with the entire team working tirelessly to ensure the venues are ready. He confirmed that all preparations for the tournament are on track.
The Governing Board was briefed on the progress of the renovation work at the Gaddafi, National, and Rawalpindi stadiums. Board members praised Naqvi’s principled stance on the Champions Trophy and expressed their support for the PCB’s efforts.
