Chris Gayle names MS Dhoni as India’s successful captain

West Indian cricket legend Chris Gayle has named MS Dhoni as the most successful captain in Indian cricket history. 

In a recent interview with IANS, Gayle described Dhoni as a "trend-setter" in the game, praising him for his remarkable leadership. He also acknowledged the contributions of current captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. 

"Dhoni has been the most successful captain for India. The guy has actually set the trend and overall, Rohit Sharma did his job well and Virat Kohli did his job pretty much," Gayle said.

Dhoni captained the Indian cricket team in 200 One Day Internationals (ODIs), securing 110 victories while facing 74 defeats. He is celebrated for leading India to glory in three major ICC tournaments: the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. His iconic six to finish the 2011 World Cup is still remembered by fans, marking India's second World Cup win after 1983 under Kapil Dev.

When asked about the toughest bowler he has faced during his career, Gayle humorously replied that for him, no bowler is too tough to handle. 

Currently, Chris Gayle is in India, participating in the Legends League Cricket with the Gujarat Giants.
