Coldplay's concert in Mumbai on January 18, 2025, became even more special when lead singer Chris Martin unexpectedly mentioned Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah during the band's performance.

While performing at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Martin surprised the audience by saying, "Hold on, we have to finish the show because Jasprit Bumrah wants to come and play backstage." He then added, "He [Bumrah] says he needs to bowl at me now."

The crowd, which was a mix of music lovers and cricket fans, erupted in excitement as soon as Bumrah's name was mentioned. Though Bumrah didn’t appear on stage, the shout-out was enough to spark cheers from the fans.

This mention of Bumrah added an extra thrill to the concert, especially since the star bowler was in the news recently for his outstanding performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25. Bumrah was named Player of the Series after taking 32 wickets in the five-match series against Australia and captained India in the first and final Test.

Coldplay’s tour in India is part of their 'Music of the Spheres World Tour,' and the band will perform in Mumbai again on January 21. After Mumbai, they will head to Ahmedabad for two more shows on January 25 and 26.

The unexpected mention of Bumrah added a fun twist to what was already a memorable night for fans of both music and cricket.
