Colin Munro achieved a major milestone on Friday during the opening match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, surpassing Rilee Rossouw to set a new record. The Islamabad United batter played a crucial unbeaten knock of 59 runs off 42 deliveries to guide his team to victory against Lahore Qalandars, in pursuit of their title defense.

With this innings, Munro overtook Rossouw’s record of 12 half-centuries to become the foreign player with the most 50-plus scores in PSL history. This was Munro’s 13th fifty in the tournament, solidifying his place in PSL history.

In the match, Islamabad United comfortably chased down a 140-run target with 14 balls to spare and two wickets lost in their PSL 10 opener against Lahore Qalandars. Colin Munro’s unbeaten 59 off 42 balls, supported by Salman Ali Agha’s 41 not out, guided the team to victory.

United’s chase started shakily with debutant Andries Gous dismissed for just four runs, but Munro and Sahibzada Farhan steadied the innings with a 55-run partnership.

Earlier, Jason Holder’s brilliant PSL debut (4 for 26) and Shadab Khan’s three wickets restricted Qalandars to 139 runs in 19.2 overs. Abdullah Shafique’s 66 from 38 balls was the only significant contribution from Lahore, as the rest of the batting line-up failed.

With the win, Islamabad United moved to the top of the points table, while Lahore Qalandars sit at the bottom.
