Concern for India as Jasprit Bumrah leaves field for scans

India faced a setback on day two of the Sydney Test as Jasprit Bumrah left the field during the afternoon session for medical scans. Bumrah bowled just one over after lunch before exiting the ground, raising concerns about his fitness. Official details on the nature and severity of his injury are yet to be confirmed.  

The signs of discomfort were visible earlier in the day. Bumrah had spent three of the last five overs in the morning session off the field. Although he returned for the final two overs before lunch and resumed bowling after the break, his pace was notably lower than usual, ranging from the low 120kph to early 130kph.  

Bumrah’s first ball after lunch beat Alex Carey’s bat, but his reduced speed was evident. Immediately after completing that over, he left the field and did not return. Later, television visuals showed him leaving the stadium in a car, accompanied by medical staff, dressed in his training kit.  

This development is a significant concern for India, especially in a tightly contested Test match. Bumrah has been pivotal for the team on this tour, and his absence could shift the balance in favor of Australia. India will be anxiously awaiting updates on their star pacer’s condition as they aim to extend their lead in the ongoing game.
