Bosch has not played in the IPL before but was a reserve player for Rajasthan Royals in the past
South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch is considering leaving his contract with Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to join Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Bosch is set to replace injured South African pacer Lizaad Williams in the Mumbai Indians squad.
The right-arm pacer was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the diamond category during the PSL 2025 draft in January. He was expected to play an important role for the team in the tournament. However, with PSL now being held in April-May—clashing directly with IPL—he is thinking about playing in the world’s richest T20 league instead.
Bosch has not played in the IPL before but was a reserve player for Rajasthan Royals in the past. He is familiar with Mumbai Indians' setup after playing for MI Cape Town in the SA20 league. He was a key player in their title-winning campaign, taking 11 wickets in seven matches with an economy rate of 8.68.
Joining Mumbai Indians will reunite Bosch with his SA20 teammate Ryan Rickelton. His addition will also strengthen the team’s seam-bowling all-rounder options alongside Hardik Pandya and Raj Bawa.
Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi now needs to rethink their team strategy as Bosch was expected to contribute with both bat and ball. The franchise may look for a replacement before the PSL begins.
The 10th edition of the HBL PSL will start on April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United playing two-time winners Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi. The six-team tournament will run until May 18, featuring 34 matches. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 games, including the two Eliminators and the final. Rawalpindi will have 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13. Karachi and Multan will host five games each.
At the same time, the IPL 2025 season will begin on March 22, with the opening match at Eden Gardens, the home ground of last season’s champions Kolkata Knight Riders. The final will also be played there on May 25, marking the first time in 10 years that Kolkata will host an IPL final. The stadium will also be the venue for Qualifier 2 on May 23.
