Cricket Victoria has unveiled its squad for the inaugural Global Super League (GSL) 2024, with USA all-rounder Corey Anderson appointed as the team’s captain. The highly anticipated tournament, set to take place in Guyana from November 26 to December 7, marks South America's first standalone international cricket competition, promising to deliver intense T20 action and a lucrative prize pool of USD 1 million.

The 33-year-old Anderson, a former New Zealand international, brings a wealth of experience to the team. Known for his explosive batting and versatile bowling, Anderson has also showcased his talents in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for top franchises like Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The squad features a blend of seasoned players and rising stars, including Australian batter Jonathan Wells and West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Jahmar Hamilton. Also joining the squad are USA internationals Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Karima Gore, and Juanoy Drysdale, along with Netherlands captain Scott Edwards, who could be a game-changer in the tournament.

Former Australian cricketer Wade Seccomb has been appointed as the team's coach. Seccomb, who guided Brisbane Heat to the Big Bash League (BBL) title earlier this year, brings invaluable experience to the squad. He is currently the T20 Performance Manager for the Melbourne Renegades.

Cricket Victoria will begin their GSL 2024 campaign on Friday, November 29, when they face off against the Guyana Amazon Warriors at Providence Stadium in Guyana. Other teams competing in the tournament include Lahore Qalandars (Pakistan Super League), Hampshire CCC (England County Cricket), and Rangpur Riders (Bangladesh Premier League).
