The left-arm pacer left the field and couldn't return to bowl
Former Pakistan pacer, Mohammad Amir, suffered a hamstring injury during the Eliminator match in the Caribbean Premier League 2023 between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Kings on Monday.
After winning the toss, Tallawahs chose to bowl first. Amir opened the innings for his team; however, only after delivering three balls, Amir pulled his hamstring and was seemingly in discomfort. The left-arm pacer left the field and couldn't return to bowl.
Worrying signs for the Tallawahs as Mohammad Amir has to come off the field with an injury 🤕 without the first over being completed. We wish him a speedy recovery 🙏. #CPL23 #SLKvJT #CricketPlayedLouder #BiggestPartyInSport

However, the 31-year-old himself took to social media platform X and provided an update regarding his injury.
“I will be fine InshaAllah, was on medication from last week because of stomach infection so it is just cramps. Hamstring hopefully will get better till Friday,” Amir wrote on X

It is worth noting that Amir is the second-highest wicket-taker of the ongoing CPL 2023, where he has bagged 15 wickets in 9 matches.
He retired from international cricket in 2020 and is active in franchise cricket. Nonetheless, he has been in the news these days owing to the speculation to make it to the Pakistan squad for the World Cup 2023 as a replacement for Naseem Shah.
