Cricket Australia (CA) is preparing for a white-ball tour of Pakistan, scheduled for early next year, marking another positive step in strengthening cricketing relations between the two countries.

During a recent online press conference, CA Chief Executive Officer Todd Greenberg expressed optimism about the upcoming tour and praised the ongoing cooperation between the two cricket boards.

“I believe it will be another good tour of Pakistan,” Greenberg said.

“The series against Pakistan is an important part of our schedule, and there has been good communication between the two boards regarding both red-ball and white-ball cricket,” he added.

He further stressed the need to explore more opportunities for bilateral series between Australia and Pakistan.

“We need to look for more opportunities for series, which we will definitely do,” he further added.

Reflecting on Australia's successful 2022 tour of Pakistan, Greenberg said the warm reception received by the Australian team made a strong impression.

“In 2022, we toured Pakistan after a long gap, and the team received a wonderful welcome. It would be great to continue playing series there,” he said.

Greenberg also touched on the popularity of Pakistani cricketers in Australia, especially in the Big Bash League (BBL), and expressed hope to see more players from Pakistan participate in the tournament.

“There is no doubt that Pakistani players are very popular in the community. Our goal is to attract players from all over the world to the BBL,” he noted.

“If leading Pakistani players come, they will definitely enjoy it here. The league will benefit greatly from these top players for their teams and franchises,” he further noted.

When asked about player participation in the next edition of the BBL, Greenberg replied, “I hope we will definitely attract some players from Pakistan.”

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan last visited Australia in November 2024 for a white-ball series. Under Mohammad Rizwan’s captaincy, Pakistan made history by winning the ODI series 2-1 — their first series win in Australia since 2002. However, Australia came back strongly to sweep the T20I series 3-0.

According to the Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025–27, Australia are scheduled to tour Pakistan in February–March 2026 for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is.
