Fans are now reaching out to hospitals near the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera for accommodation during the event
Amidst the excitement and anticipation for the highly awaited India versus Pakistan match in the upcoming World Cup, cricket fans are facing an unexpected challenge in Ahmedabad - exorbitant hotel prices, soaring above INR 50,000 per night. This has turned attending the high-stakes match into a costly affair.
However, fans have found a creative solution to tackle this issue. They are now reaching out to hospitals near the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera for accommodation during the event.
Hospital authorities have reported a surge in inquiries from cricket fans seeking one or two-night stays at their facilities. These stays, ranging from INR 3,000 to INR 25,000, often include food and a comprehensive medical examination.
The twin-sharing option allows a patient and an attendant to stay together, making it a more affordable alternative to the escalating hotel prices.
Dr. Paras Shah, Director of Sannidhya Multi-Speciality Hospital in Bhopal, explained that since it's a hospital, fans get their health check done while also saving money on lodging.
"Since it's a hospital, they are asking for a full-body check-up and an overnight stay so both of their purposes are fulfilled, saving money on lodging and getting their health check done," Dr Paras said.
Other hospital directors, including Dr. Nikhil Lala, have expressed similar sentiments and reported an increase in inquiries for 24-48 hour stays around October 15, the date of the India-Pakistan match.
"We, too, are getting inquiries for 24-48 hours stays in our hospital, particularly around October 15, as we also have a full-body check-up package. This is due to the upcoming World Cup India-Pakistan match that is scheduled on October 15," Dr. Nikhil Lala said.
The India-Pakistan clash is known for being one of the most anticipated events, as the arch-rivals rarely engage in bilateral series. The match is scheduled for Sunday, October 15, in Ahmedabad.
