Cricket Pakistan's Saleem Khaliq included in ICC Voting Academy

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has inducted Cricket Pakistan correspondent Saleem Khaliq into its prestigious Voting Academy for the Player of the Month awards. He becomes the second Pakistani to be included, alongside former national women’s team captain Sana Mir.

The 23-member Voting Academy plays a key role in selecting ICC's monthly award winners. Every month, three male and three female cricketers are shortlisted based on their performances from the first to the last day of that month.

The shortlisted players are then voted on by both the independent ICC Voting Academy and cricket fans worldwide. The academy includes renowned figures from the cricket world, such as leading journalists, former players, broadcasters, and ICC Hall of Fame members.

The academy submits its votes via email, contributing 90% to the final result. The remaining 10% comes from fans voting on the ICC’s official website.

The winners are announced during the second week of every month on the ICC’s digital platforms.
