Australian Test captain Pat Cummins has shared his experience of hearing Adhan from the distant mountains while training at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

Australia is on a historic tour of Pakistan after 24 years, where they will play three Tests, three ODIs and a T20I.

The first Test is currently underway in Rawalpindi, with two more days remaining. In his article for Code Sports before the start of first Test, Cummins also learned about the Friday prayers and why they will have an extended first session on this particular day.

"There was a cool moment during training on Tuesday when the call to prayer from Rawalpindi echoed across the ground with the mountains off in the distance," Cummins wrote.

"I also found out that day that the first sessions on every Friday of this series will be two-and-a-half hours, with an hour-long lunch break for prayers, because it is the holy day of the week. We’re learning all the time over here," he added.

Cummins also revealed that he asked Islamabad-born Australian player Usman Khawaja to set up a quiz for his teammates to learn about Pakistan.

"I asked Usman Khawaja to put together a trivia quiz for the guys after we arrived to give them a better appreciation of the culture and history of Pakistan. It was a bit of fun – Uz was quiz master with Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith the contestants – but the point of the exercise was to deepen our understanding of the country we’re in and its rich traditions," he maintained by adding that the quiz was won by Smith.
