A BCB official mentioned that the Bangladesh A team's tour of Pakistan is currently planned as scheduled
Bangladesh's preparations for their upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan have been impacted by the ongoing political crisis in the country.
The first Test is set to take place in Rawalpindi from August 21-25, and the second Test will be held in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
The scheduled training sessions for the team have been disrupted due to a nationwide curfew imposed indefinitely by the government. As a result, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials have stated that they are uncertain about when the next practice session can be held.
"We are not sure when we can hold the practice because there is a curfew for indefinite period. Our administration is looking after the matter and we can get a better understanding of the situation after they brief us about the present condition," a BCB official told Cricbuzz.
The curfew, which began on August 4, is affecting all major cities and regions, including Dhaka. The BCB was scheduled to start skill training sessions at the SBNS stadium under head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, who arrived in Dhaka on August 1. However, the indefinite nature of the curfew has led to uncertainty about when these sessions can resume.
Meanwhile, a BCB official mentioned that the Bangladesh A team's tour of Pakistan is currently planned as scheduled. However, they cautioned that they cannot make any assurances given the present circumstances.
Bangladesh A is set to leave on August 6 and will compete in two four-day matches and three one-day games against the Shaheens from August 10-27 in Islamabad.
"The A team's tour is on till now but at the same time you cannot say anything with certainty with the present political situation. But we are hopeful that they will be able to fly on the scheduled date," said the official.
