In a surprising move, Pakistan Pacer Hasan Ali replied to a tweet by an Indian journalist congratulating her, Mumtaz Khan, after Men in Blue defeated Pakistan in the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup match on Sunday.

The tweet came after a horrible performance from the Pakistan team that saw them swept away by India in their World Cup encounter. The Men in Green were comprehensively outplayed by India in an 89-run defeat in  Manchester.

The right-arm pacer responded to the tweet by congratulating the journalist in roman Urdu. The tweet has since been deleted.

“Hogi ap ki dua poori [your wish came true] congratulation,” Hasan tweeted.

Ali has had a horrible World Cup so far. He conceded 84 runs in nine overs against India alone, making that spell the most expensive bowled by a Pakistan bowler in a World Cup match.

Pakistan’s chances of progressing to the semi-finals look bleak. The team has come under tremendous criticism from all quarters.

The players, however, are hopeful that Pakistan will bounce back in the mega event by performing exceptionally well in their remaining matches.

Pakistan will play their next World Cup match against South Africa on Sunday, June 23 in London.
