Pakistan won the World Cup on March 25, 1992, at Melbourne under the leadership of Imran Khan against England. Pakistan batted first and posted 249/6 courtesy of half-centuries from the skipper Imran Khan (72) and Javed Miandad (58).

Cameos in the death overs by Inzamam-ul-Haq (42) and Wasim Akram (33) also helped Pakistan gain momentum. England was bowled out for 227, and Pakistan won the world cup by 22 runs.

Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Ahmed grabbed three wickets each for Pakistan, and Akram was also declared player of the match for his all-round performance.

On the completion of 30 years of the historic day, current players of the Pakistan team shared their memories and sentiment of the unforgettable day.

"The 92 World Cup had many of our legends like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Javed Miandad, and Inzamam-ul-Haq. They are all national heroes, and the way they won the world cup for us is our country's pride." Iftikhar Ahmed.
