Dale Steyn, the legendary South African fast bowler, has announced that he will not be returning to the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the 2025 season. However, he confirmed that he will continue his role with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 league in South Africa. Steyn shared this news on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

In his post, Steyn wrote: "A big thank you to Sunrisers Hyderabad for my few years with them as bowling coach at the IPL. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning for IPL 2025. However, I will continue to work with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 here in South Africa. Two-time winners here in SA20, let's try to make it three in a row."

Steyn joined SRH as a bowling coach in late 2021 and worked under several head coaches during his time, including Tom Moody, Brian Lara, and Daniel Vettori. Under Vettori’s leadership, SRH reached the IPL final in 2024 but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders.

In addition to his coaching success, Steyn has also enjoyed a remarkable IPL playing career, representing franchises like Deccan Chargers, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Lions. As a coach, his efforts contributed to Sunrisers Eastern Cape's back-to-back SA20 title wins in 2023 and 2024.
