The eventful over came at a crucial moment as the Delhi Bulls posted a challenging total of 123 runs
In an explosive Abu Dhabi T10 clash between Delhi Bulls and Bangla Tigers on Monday, former Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka found himself at the receiving end of a brutal attack, conceding 30 runs in just 3 balls. The eventful over came at a crucial moment as the Delhi Bulls posted a challenging total of 123 runs.
Batting first, the Delhi Bulls were in a precarious position, struggling to gather momentum. However, Australian batter Nikhil Choudhary, alongside Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan, put together a much-needed partnership to lift their side from the depths of trouble. Choudhary, in particular, was in scintillating form, smashing a quickfire 47 runs off just 16 balls. Shadab Khan, providing solid support, contributed 10 runs off 10 balls.
In the penultimate over of the innings, Dasun Shanaka was tasked with bowling, but things quickly unravelled for the Sri Lankan all-rounder. In a disastrous over, Shanaka bowled four no-balls, and his first three deliveries were mercilessly dispatched to the boundary. Nikhil Choudhary hammered Shanaka for five fours and a six in quick succession, taking the game further out of the Bangla Tigers’ reach.
By the end of the Delhi Bulls’ innings, they had posted a challenging total of 123 runs in their allotted 10 overs, thanks to the explosive performances from Choudhary and Khan.
In response, the Tigers made a strong start, but Shanaka played a brilliant cameo, scoring 33 runs off just 14 balls before being dismissed by Shadab Khan. In the end, England's Liam Livingstone turned the match in his team's favor. His scintillating 15-ball knock of 50 runs was a game-changer, as Livingstone's explosive batting led Bangla Tigers to chase down the target with two deliveries to spare.
