South African batter David Miller has expressed deep sadness following his team's narrow defeat to India in the ICC T20 World Cup final on Saturday.

Describing the loss as a "tough pill to swallow," Miller took to Instagram on Monday to share his emotions.

"I am gutted!! Really tough pill to swallow after what transpired 2 days ago. Words don't explain how I am feeling. One thing I do know is how proud I am of this unit. This journey was an incredible one, with highs and lows throughout the entire month. We have endured pain, but I know this team has the resilience and will keep raising the bar," Miller posted.

India secured their second ICC T20 World Cup title after defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final. The match witnessed a remarkable display of death bowling by Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya, complemented by impressive innings from Virat Kohli and Axar Patel.

In the final over, Miller attempted a crucial shot when 16 runs were needed from six balls. However, his dismissal for 21 runs, caught by Suryakumar Yadav near the boundary, shifted the match decisively in India's favor.

India's victory marked the end of their ICC trophy drought and capped off an undefeated campaign in the tournament. This win also made India the third team, alongside England and West Indies, to clinch the ICC T20 World Cup title twice.
