Veteran Australian cricketer David Warner has recently shared his thoughts on the impressive performance of Travis Head in the ongoing 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL).
During a recent interview on a local morning TV program, Warner voiced his positive outlook on Head's current form and encouraged him to maintain it, especially with the T20 World Cup approaching.
“Hopefully he doesn’t waste too many more runs over there and can save some for us. Hopefully, he can finish his tournament off well there and bring some of that success to our team," Warner said.
The left-hand batter also had encouraging words for Jake Fraser-McGurk, highlighting his inquisitiveness and potential inclusion in Australia's white-ball tour of England in September.
He also praised the young batter's eagerness to learn and participate as a team player, emphasizing his understanding of the game and enthusiasm for cricket.
"The experience for him (at the T20 World Cup) will be great and being around the guys and the group where potentially I feel like he’ll probably go on that England tour in late August," he said.
“As a young kid, he understands what the game’s about, what it’s like to be around the group as a team player. He asks a lot of questions and he loves the game, which is great,” he added.
Travis Head is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2024, where he stands as the fourth-highest run-scorer. He has amassed 533 runs in 13 matches, featuring four fifties and a century, boasting an average of 44.41 and a strike rate of 199.62.
