The all-rounder highlighted her readiness to bowl in any situation and her willingness to face challenges head-on
Deepti Sharma, currently the top wicket-taker in the 2024 Women's Asia Cup, led India Women to an impressive 82-run victory against Nepal Women. This win placed India at the top of Group A, guaranteeing them a spot in the semi-finals.
Despite the success, Deepti remained calm and composed, a trait she has consistently shown over the years. After the match, she reflected on the team's confidence from the very first game and expressed their eagerness for the upcoming semi-finals.
“From the first game, we have been pretty confident about each (match) and every situation and the conditions as well. We are looking forward to the semi-final as well,” Deepti said.
Deepti mentioned that the pitch conditions in the island nation had not changed much since their last tour, where India won both the T20I and ODI series. She emphasized the importance of keeping things simple and focusing on one game at a time.
“Nothing (has) changed, just keep it very simple and take one game at a time. I played (here) last time also and yeah, nothing has changed,” he further added.
The all-rounder highlighted her readiness to bowl in any situation and her willingness to face challenges head-on. She credited her success to enjoying each match, careful planning, and implementing strategies discussed in team meetings.
“I (am) always ready to bowl in any kind of situation. I like to take the challenges from the front. (It's) nothing, just (that) I'm enjoying each and every match, plan accordingly and what we discussed in the meeting, I just apply myself," she concluded.
