Pakistan faced a wave of social media trolling following their narrow six-run defeat to India on Sunday, June 9, during the 2024 T20 World Cup in New York.
Among those joining in was the Delhi Police, who took to their official X (formerly Twitter) handle to poke fun at the Men in Green.
The Delhi Police tweeted at the New York City Police Department, suggesting that the city's noise was due to two distinct sounds: the jubilant cheers of Indian fans and the smashing of television sets by disgruntled Pakistani supporters.
"Hey, @NYPDnews. We heard two loud noises. One is 'Indiaaa..India!', and another is probably of broken televisions. Can you please confirm?" the tweet read.
