ECB has revealed the schedule for the 2025 edition of The Hundred, set to begin on August 5
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed the schedule for the 2025 edition of The Hundred, set to begin on August 5. The fifth season of the competition will feature 34 matches across 27 days, concluding with the final on Sunday, August 31, at Lord's.
The opening match will see the London Spirit women's team and Oval Invincibles men's side defend their respective titles. They will aim to return to Lord's for the final, following a thrilling month of high-quality cricket.
For the first time, direct signings are allowed in The Hundred. Teams can now sign one new overseas player, with the deadline set for February 24. Among the first direct signings are Laura Wolvaardt and Amelia Kerr, who will join Southern Brave and Manchester Originals, respectively.
Some key players, including Jos Buttler, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Nat Sciver-Brunt, will return to their teams for the 2025 season.
“I’m really looking forward to defending our title with London Spirit,” said England's Charlie Dean. “The Hundred has grown into a fantastic competition, and it’s great to play in front of such enthusiastic crowds,” she added.
Oval Invincibles’ Sam Billings, also aiming to defend his title, expressed excitement for the season ahead.
“The atmosphere at Lord’s will be electric. We’ve worked hard, and we’re aiming for another strong year,” he said.
