West Indies now face an uphill battle as they trail the series 2-0 after England's dominant batting performances in the first two games
In a major blow to the West Indies, all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out of the remaining T20I series against England following a left ankle sprain he sustained during the opening game. Russell, who missed the second T20I, will be replaced by Shamar Springer for the final three matches. Springer, a promising all-rounder, recently made his debut during West Indies' tour of Sri Lanka.
Adding to the lineup changes, pacer Alzarri Joseph will return to the squad after serving a two-match suspension due to an on-field altercation with ODI captain Shai Hope during the last ODI match. Joseph’s return sees him replace Shamar Joseph as the series moves to Saint Lucia.
"As the series moves to Saint Lucia, experienced all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out due to a left ankle sprain sustained during the opening T20I at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. In his place, all-rounder Shamar Springer, fresh off two T20I games against Sri Lanka, will join the squad."
"Alzarri Joseph, having completed his two-match suspension, will rejoin the squad in Saint Lucia for the crucial final leg of the series, replacing Shamar Joseph," read the statement from Cricket West Indies.
