England have added more Australian expertise to their coaching mix with the addition of Saker and Hussey
England have appointed their former bowling coach David Saker and former Australia batter Michael Hussey as Coaching Consultants for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
England have added more Australian expertise to their coaching mix with the addition of Saker and Hussey. Head coach Matthew Mott will have the company of two experienced coaches to assist him during his first-ever ICC Men's T20 World Cup assignment.
Saker was England's bowling coach from 2010 to 2015. Before taking a flight to Australia for the marquee tournament, he will first head to Pakistan with the team for the seven-match T20I assignment. Hussey, who represented Australia in 302 international matches and scored over 12,000 runs, will join the squad for the World Cup.
Apart from Saker and Hussey, England already have an Australian coach in their set-up – head coach Mott – who was previously with the Australia Women's team and guided them to the T20 World Cup glory in 2020.
England will start their T20 World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on 22 October in Perth.
