England has bolstered their lineup for the second Test against the West Indies by including pacer Mark Wood.
The match, set to commence on Thursday at Trent Bridge, will see Wood replace the recently retired James Anderson, who concluded his illustrious career following England's comprehensive victory in the initial Test at Lord’s.
The 34-year-old, known for his express pace, has secured 108 wickets in 34 Tests.
His inclusion is expected to add significant firepower to England’s bowling attack as he partners with the young and promising Gus Atkinson. Chris Woakes remains the other dedicated seam bowler in the squad.
The England XI for the second Test is as follows:
Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (capt), Jamie Smith (wk), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Mark Wood, and Shoaib Bashir.
