England's seasoned leg-spinner, Adil Rashid, has dismissed any notion of retirement, expressing his desire to continue contributing to the team's success.

The 36-year-old, who is the only remaining member of England's 2019 World Cup-winning squad in the current white-ball team, remains optimistic about his future. Despite the team's recent struggles, Rashid believes that England has the potential to rebuild and compete for top honors in upcoming ICC tournaments.

“I have not thought about it [retirement] yet,” Rashid told the BBC. “Keep playing, enjoy it, stay fit, bowl well, contribute to wins, hopefully World Cups and Champions Trophies – that is my ultimate aim.

“I have not thought about retiring or calling it a day any time soon,” he added.

England's recent performances have been underwhelming, with crushing defeats in the first two ODIs against Australia. However, Rashid remains confident in the team's ability to turn things around.

“There have been big changes, new batters, new bowlers. It will take time. It will always take time when it is a rebuilding process. We have got every base covered in terms of bowling, batting, keeping," he said.

“Everything is there for us. All we have to do now is play the game of cricket, enjoy it, string a few games together of winning and then off we go,” he added.

Rashid's positive outlook comes despite the recent retirement of his close friend, Moeen Ali. The two players have shared a strong bond for many years, and Rashid admitted that Ali's absence will be felt.

“We always have that banter and vibes,” he said. “That’s not there anymore but that is life. Everything moves on.”
