Quetta Gladiators will not have the services of veteran batsman Faf du Plessis for the remaining matches of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.

Du Plessis said he suffered some memory loss, which, according to sources, includes the fact that he has forgotten about the incident, after sustaining a concussion in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. He collided with Quetta Gladiators teammate Mohammad Hasnain while trying to save a boundary in their 61-run defeat to Peshawar Zalmi.

The 36-year-old lay prone on the ground while the Gladiators physio attended him before he got up and was taken to hospital. Opener Saim Ayub replaced du Plessis as a concussion substitute.

Du Plessis also didn’t take part in Tuesday’s encounter against Lahore Qalandars.

The former South Africa captain will fly back home tonight from Abu Dhabi.

“We wish the legend all the best & hope he gets back on the field soon,” Quetta said in a statement on their official social media accounts.
