Fakhar Zaman, is reportedly disheartened by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) treatment of him
Pakistan's opening batsman, Fakhar Zaman, is reportedly disheartened by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) treatment of him and is now contemplating his future in international cricket. The 33-year-old, who has been a key figure in Pakistan's top order, is said to be unhappy with the way his situation has been handled by the board.
According to sources close to Zaman, the batsman is reconsidering his career path following his exclusion from Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming South Africa tour. Despite this setback, Fakhar is set to take part in the Champions Cup T20 tournament, where he hopes to regain his form and fitness, aiming to prove himself once again.
It is worth noting that Fakhar Zaman had been struggling with some medical issues earlier, but sources suggest he is now feeling much better and has returned to peak physical condition.
Regarding his omission from the South Africa tour, both the PCB’s Selection Committee and Interim White-ball Head Coach, Aqib Javed, explained that Fakhar was not considered due to concerns over his current form and match fitness. They emphasized that the decision was made with the goal of ensuring the player returns to full fitness before being selected for future series.
Fakhar Zaman, who has been a vital part of Pakistan's limited-overs teams, will look to the upcoming T20 competition as an opportunity to prove his worth and make a strong case for a return to the national team. As he evaluates his future, it remains to be seen how the board responds to his ongoing efforts to regain form and fitness.
