Ramiz Raja, the former PCB chief, didn't hold back his criticism when it came to the decision to include the struggling Fakhar Zaman in the Super 4 clash against Sri Lanka, a game that ultimately led to Pakistan's elimination from the 2023 Asia Cup after a two-wicket loss.

Expressing his concerns, Raja pointed out that Fakhar Zaman's form had been dismal lately, and his body language on the field was concerning.

“Fakhar Zaman is a walking wicket nowadays. His body language is looking shocking. I think Fakhar should himself refuse to play. On a slower track, Babar has struggled, barring one or two innings. He needs to step up as captain as well. He should take authoritative decisions,” Raja said on YouTube channel.

Raja also expressed his disappointment over the absence of two key players, Imam-ul-Haq, who was sidelined due to back spasms, and Saud Shakeel, who was unable to recover from a fever and missed the match.

"In the morning of the match, Inzi refused to play in the semifinals. He couldn't sleep. He was having a stomach issue. He was forced to play and was told there is no other option. He turned up and played a gem of a knock. Half-fit players should take risks if they want to become great players," Raja recounted.
