Fakhar Zaman has extended heartfelt wishes to Saim Ayub, hoping for his quick recovery after a recent injury
Opening batter Fakhar Zaman has extended heartfelt wishes to Saim Ayub, hoping for his quick recovery after a recent injury.
"I hope Saim will recover quickly," Fakhar said. "He is such a great player that if he plays for the next four-five years, he will be among the top three players in the world."
Saim Ayub, a vital figure in Pakistan’s batting lineup, particularly in white-ball formats, is currently undergoing treatment for a fractured right ankle. The injury occurred while he was fielding on the first day of the second Test against South Africa, ruling him out for up to six weeks. To ensure the best possible care, Saim has traveled from Cape Town to London, where he will continue his recovery.
The young opener has been in stellar form recently. During the white-ball tour of Australia, he delivered remarkable performances, scoring three centuries and a fifty in ODIs, alongside an unbeaten 98 in T20Is. His exceptional run continued in South Africa, where he was named Player of the Series in the ODI leg after guiding Pakistan to a 3-0 whitewash over the hosts. Notably, this made Pakistan the only team to achieve such a feat on South African soil.
Saim’s injury comes as a setback for Pakistan, as the team gears up for crucial fixtures. However, his return is eagerly anticipated, given his outstanding contributions to Pakistan cricket in recent months.
