Fatima also drew confidence from their recent series against South Africa
Pakistan Women's cricket team captain, Fatima Sana, has revealed her strategy for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, emphasizing a more attacking approach.
Fatima highlighted past challenges in the powerplay but pointed out how top teams in the world make the most of the first six overs.
She acknowledged that the team has previously struggled while chasing targets above 120 runs but shared that they have recently adopted a more aggressive style of play.
“We’ve encouraged players like Gul Feroza and Muneeba Ali, who are in great form, to aim for a strike rate above 100,” Fatima said.
The captain also spoke about the strong middle-order lineup, featuring experienced players like Nida Dar, Sidra Ameen, and Aliya Riaz. Fatima noted that the team is a blend of young talent and seasoned professionals, making it a balanced squad.
Reflecting on their loss to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup, Fatima expressed disappointment but remains determined to seek revenge in the World Cup.
“We are focused on winning more matches in this World Cup. We know our group is tough, but we have previously defeated teams like India and New Zealand," she added.
Fatima also drew confidence from their recent series against South Africa, which she believes has given the team a morale boost ahead of the World Cup.
"Playing against big teams has increased our confidence, and we are hopeful of delivering an outstanding performance in the World Cup," she concluded.
