Pakistan-born Australian international cricketer Fawad Ahmed has announced his efforts to collect funds for the flood-hit families in Pakistan.

The floods has inflicted immense and irreversible damage in terms of loss of crops, livestock, human life, and infrastructure. More than 1,200 people have been reported dead whereas the impact of the floods is yet to be fully felt by Pakistan's economy.

The Lahore Qalandars winning player took his demands to social media and claimed he will be putting up his jerseys for auction and all the money will be directed towards the victims.

"Imagine if a million of us donate just a dollar each, within no time we will be able to raise a million dollars which can help out a lot of people," he said.

"I would also like to auction three of my jerseys for the people of the flood-hit areas. I will put this on my Twitter, please bid privately as I will open my DMs. The highest bidder will get the jersey. From time to time, I will share the highest bidder amount on my social accounts," he further added.

The three jerseys put on sale include Cricket Australia's West Indies 2015 tour jersey, Sheffield Shield Winner jersey from the 2014/15 season, and Lahore Qalandars' title-winning jersey from the 2022 season.
