Australia’s former cricketer Mike Haysman, in a Tweet on Monday, stated that Pakistan’s prolific Test batsman Fawad Alam was a prime example of playing the game instinctively.

The 60-year-old wondered what the batsman could have achieved if he wasn’t kept out of the side for the last decade.

“What would he have achieved if it wasn't for his forgotten decade? Fawad Alam is an extraordinary player and a prime example of playing the game instinctively. If your technique is different but sound, turn it into an advantage,” Haysman tweeted.

Alam achieved a unique feat during his illustrious and unbeaten knock in the first innings of the second Test against West Indies by becoming the quickest Asian batsman to score five Test hundreds.

Fawad Alam came out to bat on the first day of the second Test against West Indies after Pakistan had lost three early wickets for just two runs.

The left-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 124-run knock off 213 deliveries with 17 fours to guide his side to a 302-run total before skipper Babar Azam called for a declaration.

Alam has been the bedrock of Pakistan’s batting line-up since making his comeback from an 11-year hiatus.
