New Zealand fast-bowler Lockie Ferguson expressed his enthusiasm for rejoining the national team after a prolonged recovery from an Achilles injury, as he prepares to replace Ben Sears in the T20 squad for the remaining three matches against Pakistan.

In a pre-match media interaction before the third T20 in Dunedin against Pakistan, Ferguson conveyed his delight at rejoining the Black Caps squad.

When asked about the challenge of bowling to Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam, he responded confidently, stating that he is sleeping soundly and not losing any sleep over it.

Journalist: Are you sleepless at night thinking of how to bowl at Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam?

“No, I am sleeping like a baby,” Ferguson replied.

“But obviously they are skilled batters. Played against them quite a lot. I think they enjoy coming down here. Probably Fakhar enjoys the shorter boundaries. Tomorrow is another opportunity against a quality batting line-up, so look forward to the challenge,” Ferguson added.

Ferguson expressed anticipation for the challenge of bowling to a quality batting lineup. He acknowledged the prowess of Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman, emphasizing that the team has specific plans for them.

“They [Babar and Fakhar] are good players. We have got our plans for them. I think the boys have bowled really well against them. Those guys have great swing pass and can get away with it on short boundaries, but they start on zero tomorrow just like us,” Ferguson said.
