Reports suggest that India has shown no interest in the proposed "partnership" or "fusion formula" with Pakistan for the event
The final decision on the future of the Champions Trophy is expected to be made on Thursday during the ICC Board meeting. Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, will also attend the meeting.
Reports suggest that India has shown no interest in the proposed "partnership" or "fusion formula" with Pakistan for the event. The new ICC chairman, Jay Shah, is scheduled to hold an important meeting with board members on Thursday. Surprisingly, the agenda does not include the issue of India refusing to tour Pakistan. Shah has labeled the meeting as an introductory session; however, sources claim that the final arrangements for the event are likely to be made during the meeting.
Meanwhile, a workshop for the event's broadcasters is also set to take place in Dubai on Thursday. On Wednesday, the ICC filmed promotional advertisements for the tournament featuring players from various countries. Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi was chosen to represent the country in the advertisement.
