The second phase, however, will start from August 30
The first round of the National U19 Championship has been halted by the fourth spell of the monsoon.
Following the heavy rainfall, the matches were cancelled on Sunday due to waterlogged grounds. The damage caused to cities like Karachi due to excessive rain has become a cause for concern for the local government as well.
The grounds which were responsible for holding the first round of the U19 Championship included United Bank Limited (UBL) Ground, TMC Ground, KCCA Ground, and Rashid Latif Cricket Academy. However, all of the grounds were also severely damaged due to rain.
12 teams were supposed to go head-to-head in the six fixtures planned on Sunday but the entire first phase of the tournament has now been cancelled.
The second phase, however, will start from August 30.
