Pakistan cricketers underwent fitness test in National Cricket Academy (NCA) Lahore ahead of Pakistan squad selection for the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2019 World Cup.

The fitness tests were conducted in the presence of Pakistan coaching staff and National selection committee members.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan proved to be the fittest player in Pakistan team as he scored the highest, 20, in the YoYo test.

He was followed by opener Shan Masood and pacer Hasan Ali, who bagged 19 points each in the YoYo test.

Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and left-arm quick Mohammad Amir also cleared their fitness test as they scored 18 points each.

All-rounders Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Faheem Ashraf and left-arm pacers Usman Shinwari and Shaheen Shah Afridi also passed their fitness test.

However, all-rounder Imad Wasim, spinner Yasir Shah, opener Abid Ali and young pacer Mohammad Hasnain failed to meet the required fitness standard of 17.4.

Players who failed to meet the required standard can miss the flight to England for the mega event, as the Pakistan team management emphasized that there will be no compromise on fitness.

The chairman of the selection committee Inzamamul Haq will announce the squad for the World Cup on April 18, Thursday.
