The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has once again begun the process of removing low-level employees from their payroll. The first stage saw the removal of five employees whose contracts were not extended and were sent home.

The employees whose contracts were not renewed on March 31 occupied the posts of storekeeper, ground men and plumber.

Two individuals, who were recently dismissed, hailed from Lahore while the rest hailed from other cities.

According to sources, there are plans to remove more individuals from the PCB’s payroll. Last year in May and June, the PCB had dismissed 55 employees however after facing stiff criticism from the media, this decision was taken back on June 4.
