Pakistan chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq, secured a visa for India alongside the national team, making a surprising early arrival in Hyderabad before the Men in Green's first match in the ICC World Cup 2023.

Notably, he actively participated in advising players during practice sessions. Sources disclosed that the involvement of Inzamam was not well-received by the foreign coaches; however, concerns are being kept under wraps for the team's greater good.

Inzamam’s input was involved in the selection of the playing XI in the initial two matches. Having returned to Lahore recently, he is set to maintain his advisory role remotely.

According to sources, Inzamam had expressed his desire to visit India, and Zaka Ashraf accepted his wish. Any discomfort among foreign coaches regarding his presence is natural. Typically, the touring selection committee is responsible for choosing the playing XI on an away tour. Nevertheless, Inzamam has voiced his opinion, and this practice is expected to persist upon his return.

Conversely, foreign coaches are feeling uncertain following changes within the board, and their future will be determined post the World Cup. The current management has opted to maintain stability based on the importance of the ongoing mega event.
